Next Trade:
*And Pick ‘n’ Pay!!*
RSVP here
Saturday, June 30th from 11-12
Located at Harlan Wolfe Ranch
Are you taking steps to reduce your carbon footprint? Do you regularly commute to local venues without the use of a car? Do you grow your own food, can food, or bake food? Are you crafty with tools? Can you sew, make clothes, knit or crochet?
If any of these descriptions fit you, congratulations. You are an Urban Homesteader! Now, are you willing to trade those crafts and learn other crafts to help make yourself and others a better Urban Homesteader? That is what UH Trading is all about.
I can make bread. You can make soap. We trade products, I give you my recipe, you teach me how to make soap. Voila, we just learned something new, something that we can add to our arsenal of survival and sustainability.
How about someone who wants to learn to cook, make soap, build a birdhouse? C’mon over! Don’t have anything to trade? Come anyways! Recipes, tips, advice, support, community, sustainability. This is what defines the Urban Homestead Trading concept. Food items are encouraged to come with a recipe and ingredients are required. Please try to use wholesome, healthy ingredients. Brownies out of a box do not count. Brownies made from scratch are amazing and will be one of the top trades!
Guidelines of an Urban Trade:
- All items must be homemade baked or cooked goods. As well as handmade crafts. NO cash accepted.
- Canned items MUST include the date the item was canned. Please use proper canning techniques to preserve the quality of the food.
- Providing recipes are optional, but encouraged.
- Ingredients are mandatory due to allergy risks.
- Sorry, but at the present time, no home brew or alcohol is accepted at the trade itself.
- Kids are welcome and encouraged to help with the process of making/trading goods!
- A generic reusable name tag will be provided, feel free to get creative!
- New items are always encouraged but feel free to bring the same item each time, especially if it’s popular!
- This is not a competitive contest for “best secret recipe”. Sharing/learning is encouraged!
- The first hour of the trade is reserved for time to socialize, discuss how to make an item, try samples, and check out what is available to trade. The second hour is for trading, it usually goes by pretty fast so please know what you want ahead of time!
- Samples of food items, lotions, drinks etc…are highly encouraged!
- Commuting by bike or walking is encouraged!

I posted this event on our website to let our members know that your event is occurring. I have asked our members to register here on your site, but I noticed at least one of our members is registed on our site but not yours. Just and FYI, you might want to double check our site before Sunday to make sure everyone is accounted for. Sorry for the confusion! And, we would love to have you as a member of our site. Please join if you feel so inclined.
